Haystack: A More Compelling View Of Your Data
Peristaltic writes "MIT's Haystack project has released the source for it's "Universal Information Client", Haystack.
In their words: 'Haystack looks into the use of artificial intelligence techniques for analyzing unstructured information and providing more accurate retrieval.' Unlike some attempts I've seen in the past to pull it all together on my desktop, Haystack shows some promise -- One of it's more useful features allows you to take the information you've been wallowing through, and have Haystack continually refine a 'dynamic hierarchy' until you get what you need. Haystack also performs some neat tricks such as combining Email, IM, web pages, etc. into a single inbox."
my nuts itch.
hi
I just heard some happy news on ESPN radio - Major League Baseball star and perceived nice-guy Sammy Sosa was found dead on Wrigley Field this morning. The apparent cause of death was suicide. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his steroids and cork-induced mammoth homeruns, there's no denying his contributions to the history of baseball cheaters. Truly a Dominican icon.
It is official; USA confirms: Iraq is dying One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered Iraq community when IDC confirmed that Iraq market share has dropped yet again, now down to less than a fraction of 1 percent of all servers. Coming on the heels of a recent USA survey which plainly states that Iraq has lost more market share, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. Iraq is collapsing in complete disarray, as fittingly exemplified by failing dead last in the recent Sys Admin comprehensive networking test.
You don't need to be a war planner to predict Iraq's future. The hand writing is on the wall: Iraq faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for Iraq because Iraq is dying. Things are looking very bad for Iraq. As many of us are already aware, Iraq continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood.
Iraq is the most endangered of them all, having lost 93% of its core developers. The sudden and unpleasant departures of long time Iraq developers Saddam Hussein only serve to underscore the point more clearly. There can no longer be any doubt: Iraq is dying.
Let's keep to the facts and look at the numbers.
Iraq leader Saddam Hussein states that there are 7000 users of Iraq. How many users of Iraq are there? Let's see. The number of Iraq versus Iraq posts on Usenet is roughly in ratio of 5 to 1. Therefore there are about 7000/5 = 1400 Iraq users. Iraq posts on Usenet are about half of the volume of Iraq posts. Therefore there are about 700 users of Iraq. A recent article put Iraq at about 80 percent of the Iraq market. Therefore there are (7000+1400+700)*4 = 36400 Iraq users. This is consistent with the number of Iraq Usenet posts.
Due to the troubles of Saddam Hussein, abysmal sales and so on, Iraq went out of business and was taken over by George Bush who sell another troubled OS. Now George Bush is also dead, its corpse turned over to yet another charnel house.
All major surveys show that Iraq has steadily declined in market share. Iraq is very sick and its long term survival prospects are very dim. If Iraq is to survive at all it will be among OS dilettante dabblers. Iraq continues to decay. Nothing short of a miracle could save it at this point in time. For all practical purposes, Iraq is dead.
Fact: Iraq is dying
What does this mean? I'm confuzzled... Hmmm... E-mail, webpages and IM into one inbox... Wait a second, IM in an INBOX? IM is INSTANT MESSAGING. How will this work?
"Your effort to remain what you are is what limits you."

So it is supposed to be stationary. Also notice that you don't see the whole image in IE.
Whoever designed the page must be really geeky if they don't care about it working correctly in MSIE :-)
Fristy Ps0t above goes out to all you lonely MSCEs out there... salud!

This sentence has two verbs and two subjects. This would be OK of they were joined by a conjunction but they are not. That's what you get when you ignore grammar.
