Modern Day Gamer Documentary

Simon Bysshe writes "I'm a UK film student, and have recently released a freely downloadable video documentary called 'Modern Day Gamer'. In it, I use interviews from a LAN party I went to in Brighton to try to address the main pre-conceptions people have about gamers, ie: is it really anti-social? is it only for geeks? is it a non-productive use of time?" We've also rustled up a BitTorrent link at Gametab and another BitTorrent link courtesy Jamuraa for this 75mb DivX file.

Look at how many stories are making the front page in a given day... it's bordering on ridiculous. The content in most is too weak to be front page fodder, but the editors are making a common amateur's mistake and think that dynamicism through quantity will attract eyes more often, therefore providing additional views of the banner ads.

The reality is that such tactics water down the product and drive potential subscriptions and future ad-views away.

  7. Bit Torrent with Shareaza ROCKS! by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Offtopic

The second .torrent from Jamuraa had by far the most sources when I tried it. I downloaded the entire file in WELL UNDER 10 minutes (more like 5). I got an average of average of 1 MEGABIT. I'm still sharing on Jamuraa's .torrent.

Also I HIGHLY recommend using Shareaza to download Bit Torrent files. It let's you see the sources you are downloading and uploading to and from and graphs of your bandwidth usage. AFAIK it also will automatically re-share any torrent files you leave in your shared folder. With the standard BT client you have to start it up and load the .torrent file again (AFAIK) Trust me it is far better then the standard Bit Torrent client!
