    It seems like I still see a lot of wheel reinvention going on, even with the wealth of code and information now available on the Net.

    Look at the bullshit going on with SCO right now. Do you think I want my company to take the chance that one of these "public domain" pieces of code is going to come back later and get us sued out of existence?

    As well, we have families to feed. We write software to sell. So we have to keep the GPL virus out of our work.

    It's due to the special, legitimized variety of theft promulgated by socialists and known as "open source" that IT job skills are currently in the toilet. Why write your own code when you can steal someone else's?
