Navigating The Gaming PR Dance
PhPetey writes "I recently began reviewing games and gaming culture for a U.S.-based national trade publication. I find the most difficult aspect of my job so far to be the lack of communication skills possessed by many of the people involved with the public relations departments of various developers and publishers. Simply establishing a basic relationship with these organizations is mind-numbingly difficult, as calls and emails repeatedly go unreturned. Are there any tips and tricks from experienced gaming journalists that could make this process any easier?" Tips from people who just pretend to be journalists to get free games are, of course, also appreciated.
Just leave them the way they are, they're fine. It's not like people will see it that often. Besides, if you end up with a very large clitoris, it can protrude and rub on your clothing.
not anonymous and not a coward.. just too lazy to register! my name is Marc by the way and this is my first time posting on this blessed forum.
We've just put out a game for the PocketPC platform a few minor moments ago, which is our first title for this platform, and we are just about to mobilize our PR effort starting in the UK and Japan and then the US... but this order is merely dependent on where we have our media hook ups.
The full version of the game can be played for free on the Web at http://www.pearlsgame.com
If you are a qualified media outlet (determined by the number and type of users of your site) then email us at media@refresh.dj to get a free copy of the PocketPC version.
This game has been out there on the Web since 99 and it gets 3 million hits a month. However, the people that play it are not PocketPC users, and therein lies the problem. Maybe some of you have the right audience and would like to pick up the ball on this one.. we would be eternally indebted.
And we're also interested in finding out if anyone can beat Juan all the way. Juan is the game's [very] evil dealer. Check him out.. he's good! oops! I mean he's evil!
