Red Hat Plans Open Source Java

sthiyaga writes "According to a ComputerWire article, Red Hat is in discussions with Sun about launching an open source version of the Java platform. 'There's always been an interest in an open source implementation of Java developed in a clean room that adheres to the Java standards,' Szulik told ComputerWire. 'We're in discussions with Sun. We'd like to do this with their support.'"

      HA HA HA!!! Oh man that's a good one! Hey, know what would be even funnier!?! If they ran on ASP.NET!!! Man, between the reboots, exploits, viruses, shit code, lackluster performance and non-existent security there wouldn't even be a Slashdot site!!! HA HA HA!!!     informative, huh? sure, the source code is available, but it is not open source. neither free as in beer nor free as in speech. the parent poster knew about this, hence the winking smiley. should be "funny" or "karma whore" instead.
