Addicted to Information?

SiMac writes "According to this New York Times article, two Harvard faculty members say that information causes a "dopamine squirt" in humans, a rush similar to that given by narcotics. Just as narcotics are addictive, information is as well. They've given the disorder of information addiction the name 'pseudo-ADD' because it tends to cause somewhat ADD-like symptoms."

I don't know what this "dopamine squirt" means, but if it's a milky white sticky substance, then yes this happens to me too.

When modern people are exposed to TV/RADIO/ 15 Second commercials/ 5000 images in one magazine / Books /CDs/MP3s --- etc etc ...

    It is just information overload.

It's fun to learn useful knowledge, but consuming too much info is just wasted time...

Clean out the info clutter in one's life and
it is much easier to live...
Turn off the cell phone and pager - and take a walk in the park. (Also - No ipod, MP3 or CD-Players! )

Stop reading everything and focus only on the things that are truely useful and purposeful - and you will not only have a healthier mental state, but more free time to do what you really enjoy...

ADD IS A DRUG ADDICTING LIE...
