SETI Gains Respect, NASA Funding

securitas writes "After having its funding cut off by Congress a decade ago, the SETI program has just received a NASA five-year grant (Google link) to participate as a lead team in the NASA Astrobiology Institute, which investigates the origin and future of life in the universe.     SETI is a waste because it:
    • Umm.. wastes all my tax money on some bullshit alien thing.

    Actually, I guess I only needed one point.

    Bah. If we're wasting money on SETI, then at least waste some money on spontaneous human combustion, UFO anal probes, and research on the Illuminati, too.

    That'd be more entertaining to read about, when I scan the Weekly World News while standing in line at the supermarket.
