Russians Order Mobile Phone Encryption Removed

PenguinRadio writes "The Moscow Times is reporting that Russian security officers (The FSB, formerly the KGB) ordered all mobile phone providers to switch off their encryption systems for 24 hours, so the police could eavesdrop on all calls. An alert, either an exclamation point or an unlocked padlock, was sent to the phones in question. This is the second time such an order was given - the last time was after the hostage crisis involving Chechnya fighters in a Moscow theater. At least the Russian has the courtesy to warn all their phone users that this was going on. Not sure what the standard FBI procedure is on something like this..."

      so there was this one time i was walking to the post office to mail a letter. i write letters to people, and they never reply for some reason. anyway, i wrote a letter to this lady i found in the phone book asking her if she knew why i keep waking up on the ground. i wake up on the ground and i can't remember how i got there. i sometimes have a sore head when i wake up like that but i think it's because someone hits me while i'm sleeping. i don't like waking up on the ground because sometimes there are ants all over me or other bugs or dirt or maybe i roll into something like dog shit. that's the worst, but it's only happened to me once. so i was walking to the post office and there was this little dog. i followed the dog into someone's yard where there was a pool. so i took off my clothes and went for a swim. i was in there for a good hour, and this lady came out back with a police officer. they told me to get out of the pool and they hand cuffed me right there! and they didn't even ask me my name or anything. actually, i think the cop remembered me from this other time. so they took me home and my mom told me to take my meds. the cops talked to her for a while and then eventually i went to sleep. i don't know where my letter is now. my head hurts.
