Dancing With A Smart Robot
Roland Piquepaille writes "Yes, this is possible, thanks to researchers at Tohoku University, reports Japan Today in a brief article [Warning: it takes a while for loading]. Equipped with a computer, sensors and batteries, it can move in any direction on four wheels and has memory for five steps necessary to dance the waltz. This sidebar contains a photograph of a student waltzing with the robot, MS DanceR (Mobile Smart Dance Robot), coming from another short story carried by Ananova."
Finally, my first first post!
How about some reporting about the blatant GPL violation(s) against Miranda. See Press release and analysis.
NOTE FROM THE SJP: Fuck you and your conception of sin. A sin is a mistake, not a state of being.
How is the parent post flamebait? It's called "humor." H-U-M-O-R.
See! That's why everybody should carry guns so if they saw that shit going down they'd go *BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM* *KERBLAM* *POW POW POW* and then the robots would be dead and everybody would cheer and...oh man, I'm toasted...
If you can't make the trip to San Diego, here is a look at the toys Hasbro is unveiling at the media convention starting this evening.
Clone Wars Durge and Obi-Wan Kenobi were unveiled earlier this spring, but here is a first look at two new Clone Wars figures: Mace Windu with lightsaber and snap-on arm gauntlets and Asajj Ventress featuring two connectible Sith lightsabers. Look for these four figures in October or November.
Also slated for this fall are Bail Organa with Obi-Wan Kenobi hologram projector, Padmé in her Lars' homestead visit attire, Imperial Dignitary Janus Greejatus, and "Fan Choice Figure #4" -- the Ralph McQuarrie Concept Stormtrooper featuring a concept lightsaber, blaster, shield and base.
A second wave of Saga Scene Packs should be available in September / October with Geonosian War Room 2 featuring Nute Gunray, Passel Argente and Shu Mai, and Jedi Council 2 from Episode I featuring Depa Billaba, Yaddle and Yarael Poof.
If you are attending Comic-Con, be sure to check by Hasbro's booth to see these and other great upcoming Star Wars toys in person.
