Academy Awards Of Halo Videos
An anonymous reader writes "With the ever-increasing popularity of Halo videogame fan-videos and machinima, Cobaltnova.com has launched the first ever Rockets on Prisoner awards: 'Cobaltnova is proud to present the first annual Rockets on Prisoner awards that recognize outstanding achievement for Halo related movies. And you get to pick the winners!'. With the nomination process already complete, the online voting will continue until midnight (PST) on August 9th, before a certified public accountant will announce the winners. Those expected to do well include Randy Glass, maker of the famous Warthog Jump, the increasingly popular FTC collective, who have 6 incredibly funny and fresh videos, and, of course, the well known fan favorites Red vs Blue. Most of the videos can be found for judging by flipping through the six nomination categories, or numerous mirror sites."
Without meaning to sound like a troll, I don't know what all the fuss is about Halo.
;)
Sure, it has some great set-pieces, and the atmosphere is fantastic in places, but it's just too damn samey and repetitive.
Didn't Budgie present MS with a wonderful 6 hour game, and get a mandate from MS to extend it in a tiny amount of time, so they cut and pasted loads of rooms together to turn it into a 20 hour game? Sure looks like it.
Very much looking forward to Halo2 though
Lat I checked, the RvB guys had the foresight to distribute Bittorrent files, in which case you're fine.
Are you serious? You think PC gamers care about Halo? ;)
I can't take it seriously when a console gamer pokes fun at PC gamers for not having a FPS... Erm...
'Scuse me while I got play some Counterstrike / Tribes / Q1 / Q2 / Q3 / UT200X / Wolf:ET / etc. etc. etc...
Please explain to me why this console is dead. Please. I would love
That bash may have been seen as valid at launch. Maybe. Considering the other launch or near-launch titles that didn't get nearly as much attention, such as Project Gotham Racing and DOA, anyone who did their homework and actually tried something other than Halo would have been able to tell you different.
But it's too late for that. Now there is Mechassault, Midtown Madness 3, Morrowind (I'm not buying a new laptop to play this game on PC, I'm a poor college student.), RalliSport Challenge, Jet Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta, the list just goes on and on.
Right now, it's proving that a Star Wars game does not have to suck these days. And the future is looking mighty bright, as I am looking forward to the Xbox Counter-Strike (Easily usable and accessable voice communication as a standard as opposed to an exception DOES make a difference), the Morrowind expansion port, the next Project Gotham Racing (which will be on Live) and ultimately Halo 2.
And before you get your panties in a wad and start crying FANBOY, I'm a card carrying Gamecube and PS2 owner as well.
I'm the guy with the unpopular opinion
The XBox's LAN features are a step in the right direction, but when can we expect some real controller hardware? I'm tired of buying videocards every month and dual-booting to Windows when I want to play (I can't beat Linux's final boss: Wine). I want a console that offers more than Playskool-level video games.
If only there weren't so many chumps buying the current shit on the market, maybe somebody'd listen to me.
