I just heard some sad news on talk radio - Horror/Sci Fi writer Stephen King was found dead in his Maine home this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.

You'd like to fly with me

    Isn't it strange
    How little we change
    Isn't it sad we're insane
Playing the games that we know and in tears
The games we've been playing for thousands and thousands and ....

    Pointing to the cosmic glider
    "Pull this plastic glider higher

You are like the guy who thought there actually was a place named "Gunpoint" where people kept getting held up.
"Stephen King" is a name used for an unknown male person. Much like "John Doe" was used in the past.
It was changed because more people where named "John Doe" than "Stephen King", so less people get scared by reading the news story.
The name used for a female, previously Jane Doe, is "Natalie Portman".
That also explains why "Natalie Portman" is often found naked and petrified, since females are more likely to be sexually molested.

You realize that we could have that certain western states would not stick to the obsolete idea of national sovereignity. The idea of building empires died decades ago. Why can't this idea of nation states defined by some shitty, imaginary borders die already?
