The planet does not revolve around the US. There are many places where earthquakes are a major part of everyday life. Buildings are built in certain ways, furniture bought that offers protection, glassware not put on high shelves etc etc etc, and /.ers from these areas will find this post extremely interesting.
The St. Anfreas fault is not unique.
