Top University Rankings for 2004 Released
jemecki writes "US News and World Report has posted their annual rankings for the top colleges and universities in America. Of particular interest to Slashdotters are the top Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering universities and the top overall engineering schools. For those that don't want to RTFA, Harvard and Princeton are the best in the country, and MIT, Stanford and Berkeley are the best in Engineering."
HARDCORE EECS UNITE!
Inside joke. MIT 6'ers invited. But Stanfurd sucks..
Hi! How are you?
I send you this file in order to have your advice
See you later. Thanks
I hate to break it to the submitter, but US News reserves computer science solely for their "Best Graduate Schools" rankings (not "Best Colleges", which is undergraduate), and puts computer science (software) under the "science" subject areas and puts computer engineering (HARDWARE) under the engineering section.
This is, almost certainly, because US News is a bunch of idiots. But what did you expect from a survey which has lost almost all legitimacy after the CalTech debacle (they majorly rearranged the ranking weights in order to manufacture "exciting new dynamics in academia", which put CalTech as the #1 school, then lied about it).
Anyhoo, perhaps someone could go to the local bookstore and look up the computer science rankings, rather than the engineering rankings, and let us know how they are.
I guess they're grading on a fucking curve. Cause the only thing Berkeley is good at is parent subsidized protesting, bullshit, protesting, talking shit, protesting, being self righteous assholes, sponging off mom+dad, smoking weed.
