Bacteria Powered Batteries

Agent Provocateur writes "SpaceDaily reports on a battery that is powered by chemical reactions caused by bacteria. A Pentagon-backed project, University of Massachusetts researchers Swades Chaudhuri, an Indian, and Derek Lovley, an American, say the battery's source is an underground bacterium that gobbles up sugar and converts its energy into electricity. Their prototype device ran flawlessly without refuelling for up to 25 days and is cheap and stable." The chemistry behind this thing isn't really that complex - keeping the bacteria alive and kicking during that time is prolly the tougher part - you can read more on Al Jazeera, and USA Today. Now, what about replacing this battery?

It's great to see a technology article like this.

But it's extremely unfortunate and in poor taste that Slashdot choose to highlight it using Al Jazeera as a news source. This news outlet is the largest voice of anti-US sentiment in the Arab world and is a particularly offensive forum to highight while our soldiers are still dying in that area of the world.

that's right. an unlimited supply of energy, such as has never been seen before, is now available to all of us, immediately, for use in the planet/population rescue initiative (formerly unknown as the oil for babies program). it is less difficult to accomplish with yOUR intentions/help.

that's right. this works on several (more than 3) dimensions.

it's also free, & available immediately (note the 'urgency') to you/all of US.

as you can maybe already see, yOUR survival/success is not the least bit dependent on the gadgets of the greed/fear based corepirate nazis, & their phonIE ?pr? ?firm? buyassed /.puppets.

consult with/trust in yOUR creator. more breathing. vote with yOUR wallet (somtimes that means not buying anything, a notion previously unmentioned buy the greed/fear/war mongers). seek others of non-aggressive/positive behaviours/intentions. stop wasting anything/being frivolous. that's the spirit.

investigate the newclear power plan. J. Public et AL has yet to become involved in open/honest 'net communications/commerce in a meaningful way. that's mostly due to the MiSinformation suppLIEd buy phonIE ?pr? ?firm?/stock markup FraUD execrable, etc...

truth is, there's no better/more affordable/effective way that we know of, for J. to reach other J.'s &/or their respective markets.

the overbullowned greed/fear based phonIE marketeers are self eliminating by their owned greed/fear/ego based evile MiSintentions. they must deny the existence of the power that is dissolving their ability to continue their self-centered evile behaviours.

as the lights continue to come up, you'll see what we mean. meanwhile, there are plenty of challenges, not the least of which is the planet/population rescue (from the corepirate nazi/walking dead contingent) initiative.

EVERYTHING is going to change, despite the lameNT of the evile wons. you can bet your .asp on that. when the lights come up, there'll be no going back, & no where to hide.

we weren't planted here to facilitate/perpetuate the excesses of a handful of Godless felons. you already know that? yOUR ONLY purpose here is to help one another. any other pretense is totally false.

pay attention (to yOUR environment, for example). that's quite affordable, & leads to insights on preserving life as it should/could/will be again. everything's ALL about yOUR motives.

take care, we're here for you.

US Forces aided Qatar in a secret coup suppression in October 2002. The conspiracy was comprised of Islamist and Anti-US Qatari as well as TCN (third country nationals). The conspiracy was probably supported by Islamist elements in Saudi Arabia. The conspiracy was probably a reaction to growing US presence in the country and the obvious US march to war. The US involvement was minimized and kept secret to prevent embarrassment to a country that was a critical element to US invasion plans (especially critical given Saudi reluctance to support the US invasion).

No US troops were ferried into the country since several thousand had already been transferred ther e in the previous months.

While the conspiracy could not be called a popular uprising, its wide spread support through many sectors of the Qatar military and government shook Sheikh al-Thani and his supporters.
