GTA Sony Exclusivity Reaffirmed - For Now
Thanks to GamesIndustry.biz for their article discussing Take Two's comments on console exclusivity for the Grand Theft Auto franchise, following the surprise announcement of the GTA 'double-pack' for Xbox, which came about because Take Two/Rockstar had "amended its exclusivity deal with Sony, which had previously prevented the games from appearing on any console other than the PS2." Despite this amendment, Take Two CEO Jeffery Lapin confirmed "...that the next [GTA] game will be on the PlayStation 2 (not the PlayStation 3 as has been speculated by some commentators) and will have an unspecified period of exclusivity on that platform." He also stated that the company "currently has no plans to bring the series to Nintendo's GameCube", but might re-evaluate if "financially prudent".
I agree. Gamecube gamers are not gonna buy crappy games. We know quality and that's what we expect.
Seriously, what is it about Nintendo fans and this stupid, holier-than-though attitude?
Nintendos games are no longer as high quality as they used to be, because they haven't moved on. Most of their games are just shallow, with far superior and more involving titles on other platforms - everything they do is on such a small scale.
Mario Sunshine is no more advanced than Mario 64. Zelda: WW isn't much further on from Zelda 64 or Mahjoras Mask. Animal Crossing was dreadful, and took place in a tiny field. Doshin the Giant, don't even get me started.
The only GC games I have taken any interest in are Super Monkey Ball and Eternal Darkness (ED is actually one of my fave current gen games). I had real high hopes for PN03, but it certainly isn't as good as I had hoped - it's far from being the classic I had been looking forward to.
I put my books on Amazon, Smashwords, Demonoid, ISOHunt and Pirate Bay. Search for 'Michael Cargill'
