Intel Warns Asia Over Linux Plan
rimbaldi writes "Intel's CEO, Craig Barrett recently warned the Chinese government that their attempt to create regional standards for computers and communications, including standards using Linux-based software, may be doomed to failure, since 'such a strategy might protect local companies and markets in the short term, [but] it would make it more difficult for Asian companies to participate in world markets.' This is in reaction to earlier Slashdot-covered stories about an Asian software consortium and China disallowing foreign software."

Ya know what? Yeah, trolls bug me sometimes, but sometimes their just downright funny. They're part of the community and you have to take the good with the bad.
The S/N ratio isn't just about trolls. it's also about quality posting. The quality of posts has tended to go down. One problem is the MacSlash groupthink. Post a story about Apple and you'll get 20 posts from Mac fanboys about how totally cool OS X (it just works, yada yada), how they love their tibooks, etc., another 10 posts arguing with the fanboys that Macs are too expensive, better price/performance ratio elsewhere, etc., another 5 posts about rumours of an x86-based OS X port and how Apple's gonna move to AMD or Intel, another 3 posts saying that Apple is dying, another 1-2 posts about how wonderful AcaBen is, or that he still lives with his parents ?!??!?, about 300 (deleted) trolls, and some miscellaneous Gentoo Fanboys touting that Gentoo runs on PPC (?!?!?!)
I mean, quite frankly it's ridiculous.
Here's your justification, you lousy piece of troll shit. My DSL connection at home sucks, and that's where the beta server is running. I gave out the site to 125 people who emailed me asked me for the site, so that it didn't die.
Now you've decided to be a fucking flaming asshole and post the site everywhere, causing signifacnt problems with my DSL at home because you're a piece of shit with nothing better to do.
I've wasted 5 hours this morning deleting your trolls and in the meantime have gotten NO other work done because of you. I'm trying to do something nice for MacSlash community and upgrade our server so it's better. You insist on wasting my time with this shit, and keeping me from being able to work on the new server.
I've worked on this site for over 3 years without every making a penny off of it because I like the interaction with other Mac users. You've just spoiled that. I now dread loading the site every morning because of trolls like you. I spend most of my time now dealing with your petty bullshit instead making this a better place. And I'm about ready to just shut the whole damn thing down instead of dealing with you anymore.

Clinton did a lot of great things for this country. He made some mistakes too. But nothing like Bush is doing.
If you want a liar, take a good look at Bill O'Reilly, or Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, Ari Fleicher or George W. Bush. Clinton lied about smoking pot and screwing some intern. They've lied to us about WMD, invading Iraq, September 11th, North Korea, anthrax and the election results in Flordia.
