Miyamoto's Pac-Man Oddity Gets GC Bundled
Thanks to GamerFeed for the news that Shigeru Miyamoto's remake of Pac-Man for GameCube/GBA will make it to consumers through a variety of bundle deals. The title, shown at E3 this year, has "...one player onto a Game Boy Advance and three players on the GameCube. The GBA player plays as Pac-Man, and he or she has a view of the maze similar to the one featured in the classic arcade maze game. The three GameCube players control the ghosts. The ghosts can see only their immediate surroundings, which makes tracking down Pac-Man a bit of a mystery." It's been announced that the GameCube exclusive "...will be packaged with Namco's upcoming [budget re-release] Pac-Man World 2... [and given] to gamers who pre-order the game I-Ninja... [and given to those who] buy the game R: Racing Evolution."
I can't help but think that if you could actually convince three other people to play this with you that it would be fun for roughly 20 to 30 minutes tops.
I always save my last mod point to mod up a good troll. You people are too serious.
From the article: "The game is played on a GameCube and a GBA. One player takes control of Pac-Man, while other players can use the GBA to take control of the ghosts."
From what I remember it's the other way around. Pac-Man is on the GBA and the other 3 players use the Gamecube (standard gc controllers) to control the ghosts.
Cool tho, thanks to this bundle, I'll definately be getting R: Racing Evolution when it comes out!
I think this is the best use of the GBA-GC link yet. Very creative and sounds like fun. Now if only EA will allow me to download my Madden season game to my GBA and take it on the road with me only to upload it later...
I don't understand your post. The opinion of others influences your enjoyment of a game? Perhaps it is actually you that has low self-esteem.
The blurb says "budget re-release". As in "yes it was released two years ago, but it now has a second release coming out under the Player's Choice budget line".
Reading your comment the way you read the news story would result in the following:
Up man 2? You game that came years PS2 had me shit on king death possible?
Yah, I s on one.
The blurb *didn't* say that before! 3...2...1... Post!
How is it a troll? I wasted my $50 fucking dollars when this came out two years ago. It fucking sucked.
I don't really mind double posts on
You mean like this? ;)
This is a GRRREAT idea. It also finally makes sense out of why the ghosts in Pac-Man were so hopeless at finding you -- there was Fog of War!
Has anybody heard anything about the live action Pac Man movie that's being made. (I'm not making this up)
Look it's a joke about my sig IN MY SIG! LOL!
I am a HUGE fan of old school games attached to bigger more complex games.
Take for instance the Snake/Nibbles game on Time Splitters 2 for the GC. I played that for hours at a time with friends and such.
However, thus far I am NOT impressed with the GBA-GC link-ups. I have not played/used the GBA card scanner, but all of the games I have played with the link (save Splinter Cell) have only shown redundant stats that are easier to check on the GC than the GBA itself!
Hopefully, they will come out with better link ups between the GBA-GC to make it seem less like a marketing gimmick, and more like a gaming investment.
This idea of "Privileged information" on a console game, that is information unique to each player is probably one of the best potential uses of the GBA link on the cube. The Dreamcast tried to do this with the VMU's, but the idea was never really embraced and the tiny screens were limited. What Nintendo and Namco should have done, or still should do rather, is create a "Namco museum" type app with lots of old Namco games like Dig-Dug for example, and incorporate this kind of game play. I could see such a collection being a worthwhile addition to a library if you're going to be playing in group situations. Sort of puts a "Scotland Yard" type spin on some old classic games.
On Wall Street they say "buy low, sell high" On the pad we say, "buy high, sell high" Isn't that somehow better?
nobody is forcing you to buy anything: I didn't see nintendo reach into your pocket and steal your wallet, replacing it with a pacman bonus disc. you can just as readily go without. or ask your mommy and daddy for it at christmas time.
OH NO, I WANT TO WATCH DVD'S, BUT I HAVE TO BUY A DVD PLAYER! PERISH THE THOUGHT, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO PLUG THIS INTO MY VCR!!!!
Sorry, next time I'll be sure to include some big fat bold-text "" tags for the benefit of you mental defectives out there.
Because it is total shit you little faggot cunt.
