Tokyo Game Show Frenzy Continues
Thanks to various sources for their continued Tokyo Game Show coverage, as GameSpot cover the show in full and GameSpy is also showcasing regular TGS updates, with their Tokyo Game Show pictorial giving a good flavor for the sights and sounds of the show. Elsewhere, IGN's coverage is spread all over their console-specific sites, and there's more personal takes from Video-Fenky, who comments that "Sony is to TGS what Nintendo is to E3 - they always rent out huge spaces not to show off new games, but to make a point to the game industry", and NFG, who noted that the "cellular phone gaming sector was booming... [and] is Namco's biggest source of profit by division."
Disregard the first post... :(...
lookie here.
For the first year Piro of Megatokyo hasn't posted a TGS panel yet
"I am slashbot, hear me roar!"
This could be really cool.

The second game, tentatively titled Front Mission Online, will be a PlayStation 2 and PC game that will support players on both platforms and allow them to interact with each other, similar to the way Final Fantasy XI is set up. Details were scarce, but a demo movie showed that like other games in Square's Front Mission series, the new game will focus on mech combat. Like Ambrosia Odyssey, Front Mission Online game is currently slated to begin its beta phase in spring 2004 with a release sometime after that.
Wow, this could be REALLY cool. I just hope they make it like a Mechwarrior MMORPG rather than a Mech Everquest when it comes to combat.

I am most excited so far about Final Fantasy VII, I am curious though to see what the developers are reffering to when they call it a new style of gaming which they name "visual content". If there is one thing we don't need is for them to cut more gameplay out of the game and add for cut scenes. However they when asked about "visual content" and if it was a movie they specifically said "no". Anyone know what they mean by this and what are they are planning on changing in terms of gameplay.
The trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes looks awesome! (Spoilers for anyone who hasn't played the original Metal Gear Solid)

Am I only one who is skeptical about the cellphone being the gaming platform of the future? What is it supposed to do, obsolete dedicated handheld games, such as the Gameboy?
