SGI's Letter to the Linux Community
_Upsilon_ writes "SGI has released a letter to the Linux community in response to SCO's recent threat to revoke the UNIX licence for Irix. The letter mentions that they inadvertently did submit some System V code into the Linux kernel, that has since been removed (and some more in the process of being removed). The article points out that the code fragments in question had already been released into the public domain as well."

a Beowulf cluster of SCO lawsuits.
All your base are belong to us!
Right on topic. SCO is creating a Beowulf cluster of lawsuits. Think of the ultimate power.
All your base are belong to us might be a little offtopic.
Thanks for the pomagranates, Spunky loves them and will be sitting up soon, I hope. As for the exquisite porcelan astrolabe, which miraculously arrived after it's perilous journey around the tit, I mean tip. That's a t there. I set it up directly. Having once aligned it upon the celestial doggy, the sight so aroused me that I was seized by a transport of scientific rature, I fell upon the glorious machine and knocked it, perforce, down the kitchen stairs, carrying faithful, Bunky, Sp-Spunky with it.
I love the way I get modded as "Troll" as soon as I make speculation that is outside of the slashdot collectives hive like worldview.
This place is getting lamer. It is turning into a bunch of "SCO sucks" and "Microsoft sucks" comments and stupid Russia "jokes".
1) The word "SGI" doesn't appear in your article at all, it's just a generic SCO piece.
2) The article is dated over a month ago, and there have been many many SCO articles on slashdot in that month, eg. many opportunities to post the story offtopic
3) You post bbspot articles all the time (which I think is fine as long as they're semi-ontopic and not repetitive), and I've seen you post this exact one in at least one previous SCO article.
Therefore: modded down offtopic. And every time you post this link in future SCO articles, I'll also mark them down offtopic (unless, of course, it's an story about SCO doing something with actual babies, in which case it would probably be hilarious).
I dunno.. Since 1998 I haven't paid for a copy of any of the number of Microsoft packages I run. And yes, I do this as my small part to help destroy the maker of that software.
Do I pay for other software? Hell yes. While I ran Eudora as my mail client I was quite happy to pay Qualcomm (even though they were a competitor to my company in another field). I support Adobe. I support Codeweavers. The list goes on.
Bill can chew dog smegma for all I care.
