Mplayer Revisited

Maybe the fury of the developers/community reaction to the fact that I dared to criticize them for their treatment of users kept me away. Whatever.     I've used mplayer on and off for a while now, and it is the preferred media player in linux for me... are there any other alternatives out there that are as easy to use and accept as many file types?

    The OSX build of MPlayer is very useful, it's the best DivX player for OSX! Of course it plays other formats as well. Thanks MPlayer team!
