IBM, Brazilian Government Launch Linux Effort
chriscooper1470 writes "Here is an update to the Brazilian Government Continues Push for Free Software. Brazil has become the latest country this week to show its support for Linux. Following moves by the UK and Russia, the government of Brazil announced Friday that it has signed a letter of intent with IBM pledging to develop initiatives that will promote the use of Linux in the Latin American country."

Brazil, with the economic strength of, say, Cleveland or South Dakota does NOT constitute the "rest of the world". Er ... or ... maybe it does. Do I need to spell-it-out for you, pad'res ??? While Georgie-Porgie & his Texas plowboys are trying to give_it_away to the wogs, still for a time -- if it doesn't happen here, it doesn't happen.
Like the OS habits of byteboyz, the buying habits of Brazil really don't count.
There is mounting evidence that Linux is being used by forces working to undermine America's values. Anyone who cares about freedom or fighting terrorism should be very concerned about these announcements. Two of the most popular "distros" of Linux, SuSE and Mandrake, are developed in Germany and France respectively, at the heart of what Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has called "Old Europe", the leaders of the attempt to stop America's liberation of Iraq, which has now freed the Iraqi people from the tyranny of Saddam Hussein. In Communist China, Red Flag Linux is being used to prop up the authority of the government by ensuring computer software remains under the control of the commisars, and Chinese people aren't exposed to the ideals of individual freedom that make American software such as Microsoft Windows possible. Now Brazil has hopped on to the list. Now you may not have heard, but Brazil is currently ruled by President "Lula" da Silva, a known anti-capitalist agitator who opposes free trade and America's war on terrorism, and is a personal friend of Communist Cuban leader Fidel Castro. Naturally he wants to promote the use of software that undermines American values, as he moves his country toward Cuban-style communism.
Here in America we didn't win the cold war just so the world could fall into the hands of ungrateful left-wing agitators. There is a war on terror going on right now, and anyone who doesn't support it is a de facto terrorist supporter. Sure, we may not be able to stamp out every banana republic where intellectual property theft is becoming fashionable, but one thing every american should know better than to do is use this "Linux" software themselves. It might seem harmless now, but as we've learned on September 11, the consequences could be very grave.
They need a cheap clustering solution to count all the nuts.
Thank you, thank you. time for bed
I would say your post is much more of a troll than mine. The fact that you got modded up shows just how broken the moderation system is - you said nothing insightful and merely insulted people. Nice, real nice.
You are truly a piece of work.
