A Novell Linux Specialist?
richardeholder asks: "Our Novell partners differentiate themselves in the marketplace by promoting their areas of expertise or specializations; this allows their
customers to know what their skill sets are and what they can reasonably expect these partners to provide for them.
As we embrace Linux, we would like to extend the title of 'Linux specialist' to partners who merit it. Before we move forward on this initiative, we would like to ask the Linux community for guidance on what should constitute a Linux specialist. Should we require certifications such as LPI and the RHCE/RHCT, or are there other more valuable ways of demonstrating Linux competency?"
I just heard some sad news on talk radio - racer Tony Renna was killed at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.
PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

certification is for gay niggah wannabe's - real linux men need no certificate to chroot the bitches!
I love it, I ask a question that impacts a great number of slashdot users, a fair number of days ago, and instead see dopey questions that focus on a novell person asking what linux certification should be. ;-)
I think there's WAY too much focus on certifications... but then again, anyone who has seen the "average" Microsoft certified person knows why I feel this way ;-)
Sorry, little peaved.
Mark me down, but just so the question shows up ON slash dot at some point:
What will happen to all of the users of programs that backup their (legally owned) master dvds, if these programs are declared illegal? Say, as an example the current case against 321 studios? The reason I use them as an example is they have a section in their privacy statement that specificly states:
321 Studios will disclose your Personal Information to the extent required in the event it must respond to subpoenas, court orders or other legal process, or if 321 Studios finds that your actions on 321studios.com violate any terms of use, any usage guidelines for specific products or services, or any terms of any license agreements you agree to.
321 studios has sold a lot of copies of their dvd copying programs. This is based on the fact that they are opening a retail store in St. Lous. Since this could impact a ton of people, and no big deal has been made of it yet. Couldn't these people now be fined for each backup they have made?
Thanks!
