FCC Adopts Broadcast Flag Scheme

After careful consideration and debate, GNAA board of directors agreed to purchase 6,426,600 preferred shares and 113,102 common shares (the equivalent of 150,803 ADSs) of SCO, for an aggregate consideration of approximately US$26.9 million and approximately $40 million for gay niggers that were working in Lindon, Utah offices of The SCO Group.
If all goes well, the final decision is to be expected shortly, followed by transfer of most SCO niggers from their Lindon, UT offices to the GNAA Headquarters in New York.

What's teh "Big Deal"? All this does is check to see if content is recordable or not. If someone has an exclusive show ice, do not record license like the NFL, this will simply ensure that livense is upheld. Seems fair to me.
Maybe we should do something similar for email, so that you get registered as a valid mail sender and that status can be revoked if youdo something like spam. Icoming MTAs could check for the flag first and, if it does not exist, refuse to allow the message to come in. this would save bandwidth issues, I am sure.
...or are you waiting for someone to turn up and explain why this is a bad thing? What's the problem with it? I mean, even if it doesn't work (manufacturers who ignore the rule), it doesn't matter. No freedoms are being lost. It's just a TV.

Sort of disagree with this statement. Being an American, I've become tired of the 'follow the Jones'" culture of materialism. The people who are spending outrageous bucks on these things are the ones driving up the price. Take a look at the entire DVD+RW/-RW/W/R/r/w formats or whatever is in nowadays.
If the people are dumb enough to keep dishing out money for it, you can't blame a company for going after that money. Now now now, before you troll this down, let me really type the meaning of that comment down. (On the Google post I used 1Billion figuratively because I was too lazy to look up the actual amount being offered...) I know in theory the FCC is not a company in the Microsoft sense, but somewhere down the narrow road of government and business there exists a thing called (kickbacks!) favoritism for corporations that coincidentally have contributed to, wow another coincidence, the FCC buyer/purchaser/spokespersons political party/bank account/etc.
