Microsoft Offers A Bounty On Virus Writers

Iphtashu Fitz writes "According to news.com Microsoft will announce a bounty of $250,000 on Wednesday for information on who wrote two recent Windows viruses. The bounty is offered for information that leads to the arrest of the people who released the MSBlast worm and the SoBig virus. Microsoft will officially announce the reward in a joint press conference with the FBI and U.S. Secret Service Wednesday morning. This is the first time a company has offered money for information about the identity of the cybercriminals. Could this be the start of a new trend in going after the writers of viruses & worms?"

    I'm not French, not even related, so please write correctly so that I can look for it in a dictionary. Most of all, and this applies to all your fellow English-language speakers: pronunciation is not enough!

    I'm somewhat tired of people confusing "there" with "their". C'mon, maybe it's more important to know how things sound, but not here -- and not for foreigners like me -- we are not listening to you, we are reading you.

    You wouldn't address people with a redneck accent, would you? Now why write in a redneck way?

    Now I concede English is so b0rken that it's almost impossible to master it completely... forgive me for my own errors, since it's not my native tongue (fortunately).

    I'm sure I can get Ed to track them down real quick, I'm not sure it's worth the 250,000 wulong reward on these bounty heads though.

    that's why IIS has more holes than apache, right? because it has a bigger market share?

    Sometimes that may be true, MS gets more attention because it's bigger...but others... it's just carelessness. IIS qualifies as a clusterfuck, plain and simple. So where do you draw the line?
