Israeli Super Drone Stolen

kristy_christie writes "Globes Online reports that Steadicopter's prototype pilotless helicopter was stolen a few days after the completion of its test program and final test flights. Interesting to note that Steadicopter claims that their helicopter is unique and there is no other of its kind in the world."

No, that's not really interesting. Companies have a tendency to claim that their products are unique...

Never seen a remote controlled helicopter before? What's that if not a pilotless helicopter?

This is a very boring story. Can't you find anything better than this?

Makes sense, because Israel has already been caught doing this by secretly selling the apartheid government of South Africa nuclear arms.

Ironically, with Israel's bans on inter-racial marriages, work permits for palestinians, and their new security wall they arguably are implementing apartheid on their own.

Selling arms to another country makes economic and diplomatic sense as they're only real ally is the US and depend on US aid for both their economy and military. By selling arms, even illegally, they have an chance to make money and make new friends. With already 65 UN resolutions against Israel, another really isn't going to hurt especially if the US steps in and vetos.

Mod this as you wish, but those are the facts.

Oh yeah, dude, don't you just hope the Arabs can use it so they can push my kind to the sea? Are you in ecstasy when you hear about another Arab assassin blowing up in a crowded civilian center in order to kill non-combatant men, women and children? Aren't you sick and tired of living, breathing Jews; doesn't it make skin crawl to hear about our success? Listen here, Jew-hater, you can support a second final solution all you want, but I promise you I'm not going submissively into the oven like my forefathers did. I'm readied and armed, and I'm prepared to defend myself and my loved ones with terminal intensity. Please do take my message back to your PLO bosom buddies.

I notice that you didn't mention the fact that the UN has adjudged Israel's (why can't YOU spell Israel, by the way?) occupation illegal.

That anyone would still give an organization that wouldn't enforce its own sanctions against an aggressor nation (18 of them in 12 years) any credibility at all is mind-boggling. The UN long ago ceased to be a force for good in the world; nowadays, it's nothing more than a means by which every tinhorn dictator and third-world despot gets to lay a guilt trip on the civilized world.

"Equally evil"? The Arab governments in the area have publicly and frequently stated their intent to destroy the Jewish race. That means that everyone living in Israel is targetted for death, as (ideally in their eyes) every Jewish person in the world. These countries have a state sponsored religion and you can't hold a position of power without professing belief in that religion.

The Israeli government on the other hand has not engaged in the mass slaughter of their foes, or backed suicide bombers targetting civilian populations. The Israeli government has stated their intention to fight back against agression with whatever means are necessary, but they have not stated any desire (collectively - I assume some are very anti-Palestinian, but not enough to dictate policy) to destroy the Palestinians, or other Arabs. The Israeli government, while historically religious, is as secular as most Western countries. Issues like religious marriage being the only kind to have significance are being dealt with faster than similar issues in the USA.

One set of countries are religious dictatorships, where being of the wrong religion, or sexual persuasion will get you tortured and sometimes killed. The other government is actually a haven for gays and refugees from the other countries.

Israel builds walls because there are snipers and enemy soldiers nearby who would attack civilians if they could. This is why they captured enemy territory (when attacked) and use it as a buffer zone.

The Palestinians (and the Arab states nearby) are continuing the same pathetic game people have played for thousands of years: "We hate them and we'll look as far back in history as necessary to justify it."

I'll side with the secular government that hasn't declared it's intent to destroy a whole race/religion of people.

When the Palestinians actually disarm and stop killing civilians, and when the non-suicide bombers actually distance themselves from this by trying to stop the bombers, or at least not celebrate their efforts and deify them, I might think that they're serious about peace. Until then, they're just another bunch of idiots demonstrating the problems of religion.

"Unilateral" means acting by oneself. Just because we didn't have France and Germany on board doesn't mean we acted alone. Over 30 nations were represented in the "Coalition of the Willing."

Acting multilaterally doesn't guarantee that a good end is pursued, or by good means, either. See WWI.
