Nonexistent Windows OS Superior to Panther

Anonymous Coward writes "A Windows user slams Panther. 'Apple has implemented some basic desktop composition features in Mac OS X "Panther." But the basic problem with Mac OS X isn't going away: It's a classic desktop operating system that doesn't offer anything in the way of usability advancements over previous desktop operating systems. Today, Windows XP and its task-based interface are far superior to anything in Mac OS X. In the future, Longhorn will further distance Windows from OS X. (sic) From a graphical standpoint, there won't be any comparison. As Microsoft revealed at the PDC 2003 conference, Longhorn is far more impressive technically than Panther.'"

  1. Keep in mind that Paul Thurrott is a fruitcake by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Flamebait

I've had the severe displeasure of reading many of Paul Thurrot's writings recently, and they're about as reasoned and measured as NRA gun nuts or right wing wackos on AM talk radio. It just doesn't make any sense to me why there is so much foam at the mouth hatred from PC guys (and it's ALWAYS guys) for Apple, a company with 3% market share. It's not like Apple is threatening them in any way.

In his demented little crusade, Paul for some reason also feels he needs to jihad with Wired Magazine, Dave Winer, and a host of other imagined enemies. Keep this in mind, his various other hallucinations will make more sense.
