Man Arrested for 'Spam Rage'

Mirkon writes "We've all gotten frustrated at some point with spam. Perhaps we've even been motivated to send nasty, threatening messages back to the spammers, just to vent some frustration. Wired reports that 44-year-old computer programmer Charles Booker did just that, and 'now faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.'"

    Sure, this guy did go a little over board, but he had every right to. How bout a link or email or something? We could show this company what real spam is... the slashdot effect!

    5 years in prison for death threats looks too much. Especially since the guy obviously had no intent on actually doing anything harmful. Just shows again how sick the American society is.

    The programmer, that is. What is it with nerds and their pathetic OCD spam-complex? My guess is that spam, for a lot of nerds, is like the ultimate unfixable bug. One of the few, if only, undesirable behaviors on the computer they are absolutely powerless to fix, and it just flips them out. But that's supposed to never happen!--computers being, of course, what we all turned to because
    It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it's because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn't like me...
