Human Pac Man
erined writes ""Human Pac Man" is a project of the Mixed Reality Lab of the National University of Singapore. Players don back pack computers, VR gloves, and 'mixed reality' goggles which overlay virtual cookies--shown as floating spheres--on a first person view of the real world. Aided by a helper who can view the entire game board, players realize their pacman fantisies as they physically move around in a wide-area setting eating cookies and avoiding monsters."

Ok, I'm only seeing 18 comments...yet the site is not responding.
I can accept that many more folks read than post but...!!!
I mean the price of CPUs and motherboards is already so low that almost anyone with a decent job could afford to build a Beowulf Cluster in his/her basement over a period of few years. Get the rack, add one or two mobos with CPU and memory and buy a new mobo every month or so. Boot over te network so you don't have to buy a hard drive.
Yet, at present, a single 19" rackmount case costs about the same as a CPU, motherboard, tower case and 512 GB memory. That's unacceptable.
What I need is a 19" rackmountable plate for my motherboards. How much can a plate of steel with holes drilled in proper locations and rackmounts cost?
Ideas?
Your not the only one... I'm reading slashdot instead of writing a paper that's due dec. 10th...

Advertising should be outlawed on specific media: Telephone, fax, email, pop-ups, etc. Basically, any communication channel where the end user pays should be free from ads, or at most, opt-in. Advertisers need to be put down, and put down hard, for their intrusive behaviour.
