I've got a PHP site I need to have done.

Sort of like MIT CourseWare, but different content.

$35000 a year in tuition. MIT has no excuse to do anything overseas.

At this cost they should ship India folks over here to the U.S. and provide free palak paneer while they work on their open courseware.

Why should MIT's Computer Scientists and Computer Engineers bother with the IT field? After all, we CSs are not network monkeys. CS and CE degrees are applicable to a much wider range of jobs than just IT garbage. Maybe most people don't care about the distinction, but I'm tired of seeing CS and IT equated against each other. CS!=IT

that it could just be an easy answer (aside from cost)? They're outsourcing the work to people who *actually* work, instead of just get paid and act as if they do. Real workers instead of drones. Maybe some of the kids whose jobs are being outsourced could learn something about a work ethic, which IS sorely lacking in today's business world.

Why the fuck can't Indians keep to their word. Why is it that yes may mean no, no may mean yes, or yes and no may mean nothing all together.

"Oh sure I'll deliver the program by December 5, 2003."

YEAH RIGHT! I'll believe it when I see it. Which doesn't happen 99.9% of the time.

And not only that, the work is shoddy, messed up, unmaintainable, and (insert other adjective describing piece of shit here).

I'm sure many of you who have worked with Indian colleagues will agree. I am so fed up with their constant bullshit.
