Buzz Advocates Lagrange Point Spaceport
thrasymachus writes "Buzz Aldrin has an editorial in the New York Times (free reg req) advocating a spaceport at a Lagrange point between the Earth and the moon over simply more moon missions. He emphasizes the cost and practicality of such a station, as well its potential as a 'bridge to the heavens.'"
Good idea but you can't explore as much in a point in space. On the other hand, if we start building stuff on the moon we will probably get into a whole "territorial fight" with other countries and wind up killing ourselves because the weapons we used on the moon somehow changed its orbit. Thus allowing the earth to fall into natural disaster chaos.
And once again we see why religion is evil.
Claiming there is only one way true religion is exactly why this world is so screwed up.
And while we're on the topic, The Vatican is hardly a role model for ethical behavior.
I don't see the problem. The US was the first to land men on the moon, therefore it belongs to the US. Why is that so complicated for the rest of the world to understand? If you don't like it then tough. We'll just shoot down your rockets if you try to colonize the moon without our permission.
Do people have any fucking clue about how far everything around us is? We will likely NEVER actually travel in any sort of pratical timeline to anything remotely interesting. Getting halfway to the moon would be the least of our worries. Fuck off with your 'knowledge' humans, bring on the true King.
