Wal-Mart Music Download Service Launches

nns6561 writes "Wal-Mart launched their music download service today. They are providing wma files for 88 cents. I was able to download and play the test file with MPlayer and Linux. Finally, a music service for us geeks." While it may be only another online music seller, I'd hazard a guess that Wal-Mart has the name recognition to be the most prevalent music download service, especially among the tech-unsavvy.

I'm canadian and have nothing against mullets. It just sounded cool as a generic name.
It's racist. It shows your true colors.

If you don't want your kids to be badly influenced by something, be a parent and tell them about it, dammit. It's not by shielding them from reality that you'll achieve anything. Next you'll be in favor of burning "dangerous" books and putting people in jail for thought crimes. I am not in favor of GOVERNMENT burning anything. Reality is not a person telling you to beat up women, rape them, kill them, burn their bodies, and sell them into prostitution. Reality is not extolling the virtues of killing cops. Reality is NOT what is being sold often. You can tell your children about all the bad things AND still enforce a policy of them not induldging in massively damaging messages of violence, rap, obscenity, sex, and immorality. Telling a child one thing - no matter how often - and then throwing them to the pop culture wolves - is a stupid, mis-guided, and ultimately failure-bound policy.

putting people in jail for thought crimes.
No, that's the GOVERNMENT again. I am however, supportive of my right to purchase media that conforms to my own political, moral, and social views.

I just hope you are not the kind of person who is offended by sex on the TV and finds it okay for his kids to watch terminator.
I think simulated violence is a *much* bigger problem than sexual content.

But I do have something against censorship and the "I know better than you what you need" folks like you who accept it as something normal and good.
Well you haven't said what in a way that makes sense. If I want my children to have unfiltered access to popular culture, that's fine, I know how to provide that. Wal-Mart fills a role that real actual people want, and find valuable. An organization able to filter that *massive* amount of pop-culture that is advertised to the masses.

    Nice troll.
In any case, you are the troll. You've exposed yourself as a racist, and a person who builds up strawmen by implying that support of Wal-Mart censorsing indicates a support for "book burning" and "jailing people for thought crimes".

This could be a post, and you'd assholes defend the company that did this to the death. I have a suspicion that all this "defending Wal-Mart's right to exploit" stems that they are using linux, rather than MS. I wouldn't be so proud of that, whether it's on a missile used to kill civilians (which could be your brother, sister, or mother - no one said what country this missile was coming from), or by a corporation that actively and willfully destroys local economies - it's all the same.

You want hard proof? Here, written by a conservative asshole. Their own lying lips, exposed for you to see (read)!

I live within 10 minutes of 4 stores that sell nothing but CDs/DVDs. Plus a Borders', Barnes + Noble, Circuit City, KMart, and Best Buy. I've never bought a CD at walmart. Far too many mouth-breathing missing-links, not to mention kids crying and fat dopey welfare housewives/baby factories.

Whether you are attending a private sex party or a public club, there are some good manners that should be followed. Obviously these rules will vary for different parties, but here are a few good rules to follow so that you don't become an unwanted guest and never get invited back again.
    • Don't be a sling lizard - In other words, don't get into a sling unless you have a play partner. And if slings are limited, give other people a change to use the sling.
    • Lay down paper towels on the floor before playing to collect any spilled lubrication. You may also want to place a paper towel under the bottoms butt. Wipe off the play area and the bottom completely before leaving the play area. It is the tops responsibility to make sure the lube is wiped off the bottoms butt and that the floor and sling or table is wiped off and clean for the next person.
    • Ask your host what the house rules are This includes where you are allowed to play and what supplies you should bring (I always bring my own lube, beverage, paper towels and other party supplies to private parties). At THE SLING you can bring your own lube or we sell it there. Bring your own beer if desired, we provide sodas, paper towels, gloves, condoms and shower. For all parties it's polite to bring your own towel in case you want to shower
    • Don't just walk up to a play session and join in It's best to try to get some eye contact to see if they want you to join in. It can be very distracting to be in a scene and have somebody just join in especially if you don't want them there.
    • Keep unnecessary conversation and noises out of the play area Try not to have regular conversations where people playing can hear you. Also, if you are a screaming or make loud noises during play, this may disturb other guests. Some people enjoy the loud moans and groans but many find it disturbing.
    • If you move any equipment around return it to the original spot when done For example, if you raise or lower the sling, return it to where it was when you got there. Or if you move a table or chair, return it.
    • Do not share lube. This can lead to the transmission of HIV and other diseases. The cans can become contaminated while playing so it's good to write you name on the jar of crisco or lube.
    • Wash off hands and arms and dick when done playing Preferrably with an antibacterial soap.
    • Don't walk around the party in street clothes or be a gawkerAt most play parties the guys are usually in jocks or chaps so that their butts are exposed
