Your Cell Phone Is Tracking You
PollGuy writes "I had never heard until this article in the New York Times (sacrifice of first born required) about services that let regular people track the locations of other regular people via their cell phones. Nor this: 'A federal mandate that wireless carriers be able to locate callers who dial 911 automatically by late 2005 means that millions of phones already keep track of their owners' whereabouts.'"
So, you bought a cell phone for your other hand, too?
As a civil libertarian, I have no problems with this technology being used to track children
As a civil libertarian, do you have a problem with
newlines
or separate paragraphs?
As a fellow civil libertarian, I suggest that you'll get your message read by more people if it's not one continuous block of text.
Opinions on the Twiddler2 hand-held keyboard?
please name a single thing in the whole world that ISN'T "potentially valuable to abusers"
No nutweed, in Security-Nuts America the cell phone tracks you. RTFA, you trolling asshag.
My fellow Americans, Black or White; Christian, Jew, Muslim, or Hindu; Woman and/or Man please tell me that you have learned to finally COMPETE COMPETE COMPETE *IN* instead of WHINE WHINE WHINE *ABOUT* this global economy so filled with the beautiful creative destruction of good American jobs! Please tell me that you have learned to be good corporate libertarian capitalists. That is, you have decided to embrace our economic decline and have vowed to never ever look towards political solutions for the problem of having your living standards go down the toilet. Go down the toilet because executives, financiers, and rentiers of all stripes have decided that it's faster and more reliable to transfer your wages to their pockets then to wait for that much ballyhooed tide to come in and lift all our boats.
This is the right of these executives, financiers, and rentiers, after all. They have earned it by birth or by careful social machinations or by grinding the faces of their fellow human beings into the ground or even, in some rare cases, by hard work and talent. Whatever the reason, they have the right to modify the system as they see fit and in their interests. They have the right to modify it so that most Americans never ever get ahead. And they have the right to destroy this great nation by starving it of investment capital so that America herself GETS DESPERATE AND HUNGRY ONCE AGAIN!!! Remember that famous saying: NO PAIN (in the short-term -- say a couple of decades, maybe three), NO GAIN (in the long-term). It's so true! It might sound a bit scary but, rest assured, it's all for the best IN THE LONG-RUN. We MUST descend into the fetid muck with the Indians and Chinese and other poor people of the world so that we are COMPETITIVE IN THE GLOBAL MARKET again.
So quit complaining! The world of abundance promised by technolgical advancement is simply not for most of us in the States anymore. For a while. But, TURN THAT FROWN UPSIDE DOWN, because paradise is just around the corner (say a couple of decades, maybe three)!!! We must first survive THE TEST. Will you survive? I know you can! So let's go out there, work our asses off for smaller and smaller peanuts, and make corporate America proud to exploit us!!!
Remember:
A radical corporate libertarian thinks corporate America has a right to use slave labor.
A person who is not a radical corporate libertarian thinks there should be wrong-headed laws preventing such things and staunching the HOLY HOLY HOLY flow of global corporate CAPITAL.
Actually, in SOVIET RUSSIA, you track the cell phone, because there's only one shared by everyone in your village due to poor communist economic planning.
> ... nutweed ... asshag.
:D
Thanks, that made my day!
