Asimov's "I, Robot" Gets Movie Treatment
sdimbert writes "Isaac Asimov's classic collection of short stories about the role robots play in humankind's future is being made into a movie set to release on July 16, 2004, starring Wil Smith. The most notable part of the release build-up is the fact that the movie's trailer, most often seen before screenings of The Returnn of the King plays more like a product commercial (like Apple's flat-panel iMac ads) than a movie trailer. Suffice it to say that most of the audence that saw it with me had no idea they had just seen a movie trailer; they actually believed that someone was going to start selling a "fully automated domestic assistant" some time next year."
I'm just appalled that such a good should be wasted at this talentless thing. I for one would have rather seen it preformed by one of the better actors. Putting this creature in this movie is just giving in to terrorists.
Is it not bleeding obvious that the writer was taking the piss?
Xenu loves you!
No, not really, but I was still smart enough to post as AC. And, "taking the piss" WFT ... oh I get it you're English, so you must be clever.
Will Smith is as trendy as untalented, as you may see in any of his movies. Now, if you say, Samuel Jackson, maybe Denzel Washington... different stroke.
Asimov does not make any mention of black characters in I Robot. Why does film-whore-house need to include a black character? Is it because of it's long-enduring concern of black people's representation in movies?
I think any discourse of pretended racial-equality is diluted (thus detrimental to the original cause) by this win-win positioning by a corporation whose clear intents is to get as many asses into the movie theather as possible. Read-up.
Troll-not.

Poor Isaac - does this mean they have phased out the white models?
If Google really cared they would fix Android Chrome to reflow text, instead of discriminating
Sorry. I am a movie buff, I would know about either if they were of any significance >:-p
IANAL but write like a drunk one.
Flamebait? Do you really think people are going to fling mud at me because I disagree with the modding up of an overdone joke here?
"Derp de derp."
