Extinctions Due to Global Warming Predicted
PizzaFace writes "A study being published today in Nature predicts that global warming will doom 15 to 37 percent of plants and animals to extinction by 2050, according to various news sources. The study looked at how predicted warming would affect the suitability of the areas that particular species inhabit, and whether displaced species would be able to migrate to suitable habitat. Many of the unlucky species are being caught between the hammer of global warming and the anvil of habitation destruction." The BBC has a story about climate engineering: long-range planning on making major changes in order to reduce the effects of global warming.

When MicroSoft funds a study of the costs of implementing open source software(you just creamed your shorts when you read 'open source' didn't you?) it is reviled and summarily dismissed without even being read. But when an anti-american report is made by an anti-american group it is treated like gospel by you.

And you just hit the nail on the head, but I don't think you meant to. While environmentalism is not a bad thing by itself, most hard core environmentalists are much more interested in political-economic changes than they are in actually 'saving the earth'. Once socialism and communism were widely regarded as failures, the leftists needed some other method of advocating their anti capitalist beliefs. What better way to bring down capitalism than through extreme environmentalism. Make it too expensive and too difficult to produce anything or even to go about our daily lives, and industrialized society will crumble. Once again, I'm not saying all environmentalists have this goal in mind, and I for one don't want corporations to be able to legally dump mercury in a river or anything like that, but many hard core enviro-freaks are also die hard socialists.

You worthless fuck. I was just thinking about how fucked up the world is getting. It made me realize that a great image that would represent the way we (Americans) are living would be a picture of someone with a clear plasitc tube about an inch in diameter, fused to their mouth and the other end to their anus. The bits of feces that escape the tube where it enters the anus would be dripping all over small children and fucking couples that represent the rest of the world.
Where I live, things are going to hell in a handbasket. Last month (December) we had more days with temperatures in the 40s-60s than we did the usual seasonal 20s-30s. Even though a lot of people were enjoying the "nice weather", it pained me to think "this is NOT right". While it might be convenient for us that things were a little warmer, it's not good for the planet as a whole. However, I really can't wait for things to get worse. And when I'm an old man and the Earth is a really shitty place because of the reckless way you dorks are running it, I'm going to make certain that I stand up and say "I told you so! We all did you stupid worthless greedy fucks! Now you can stick that shitpipe in your mouth and feast away because that's all you're going to get.
You are already feasting on the shitpipe in many ways. The tap water you drink is filled with fecal matter and urine. The food you eat contains byproducts from animal feces. If you like to head out to those mega mall shops like Chi Chi's, Chili's, Max and Erma's, Olive Garden, Bennigan's, Carabas, etc... The food you are eating there is laced with tons of poison as well as trace amounts of fecal matter. And those Aspartame laced drinks (That's Nutrasweet to you consumers) are filled with vile toxins that no doctor would ever let meet their lips. Aspartame was accidentaly discovered in the 60s by a researcher at Searle working on medication for digestive issues. It WASN'T meant to be a sweetener. Thanks to Donald Rumsfeld (then CEO of Searle) and Ronald Reagan, it got approved for use in the consumer sweetener market. Now look at how many medicines are thrown onto the market every day with little to no testing. Why? So the people at the top can make MORE MONEY at YOUR EXPENSE you idiots! Listen to or read the list of side effects and contraindications that these "medicines" have these days. It's worse than a list of RedHat Linux RPM dependenies and some of them are unresolvable.
So... for all the "good" that we're doing to our environment and ourselves, it's best that we just shortcut nature and go the route of coprophilia. Whether you like it or not, that's already exactly what you are doing. And you're screwing your grandkids too. Of course... if humans ever make it off this rock and onto another one, they will spread their disease. And you know it will be the rich first. They will leave YOU behind because like it or not, you ARE NOT "the rich".
