Your Favorite Net.Art?

worm eater asks: "About four years ago I became interested in trying to discover art sites on the Internet. Not sites that deal with art, but sites that are art. After many hours of searching, I stumbled on a few that I enjoyed: jodi.org (although this one currently appears to just have a cool little downloadable screen-distorting program for Mac OS 9) so you might want to try, a few of these groundbreaking and sites. [Note: Beware of <BLINK&gt tags!] Recently, my interest in this genre of art has been reignited. What is your favorite piece of net.art?"

Accurately described as "totally insane web experiences":

1x60.com - for the wonderfully insane images that make strong political statements (find and click on the "Enter" text on each page to advance to the next).

Ming The Merciless - In no way attempts to offend one group - nobody is spared. And if they are, it's accidental I'm sure.

For interactive Java-based art, check out some of the examples for Proce55ing (browse the exhibitions, examples and learning sections). Some of it's really cool.

I'm not sure I'd call it "art", but Weebl is manditory flash animation if you've not seen it. Superfancy.com also used to be pretty good, but I just looked and it's not there anymore (all the old content is gone).

There are more I've seen that I can't remember, I'm sure - but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Humm, also some sites that might be considered art, but its really webmasters or design firms, so they are filled with artists. (Most are flash based.)
