AMD's Roadmap revealed
NoPants writes "It looks like the aces at Anandtech were able to get their hands on some of AMD's internal roadmaps. Anand has some interesting information including the new upcoming Socket 939 CPU standard as well as AMD's predicted release dates for Athlon 64 4000+ processors. Hopefully this will shed some light on what AMD is trying to do with all the different socket types..."
then shut up bevis.
Perl, silly rabbit.
What's the real Mhz on the 4000+ chip? I'm sick of AMDs false advertising. The benchmarks on Toms Hardware constantly shows AMDs false cpu rate underperforming Intels real CPU rate.
Looking at Toms now, AMDs 3200+ chip benches slower than Intels P4 2.8.

I was a hard core AMD fan since my AMD 486 120mhz. My current rig is an Athlon 1.4Ghz, which was top of the line when I bought it. The same speed Intel was twice as expensive.
I am currently very disapointed in AMD mainly due to their sleazy naming convention like Athlon 2800. To the average idiot that seems like the speed, but it is not. So then there is a argument that the number means the chip is comparable to an Intell chip of that speed. Benmarks show that to be bull.
Nope, I am looking at an Intel for my next Rig. I like Hyperthreading and the new 875 chipset. I am holding out for a Prescott chip. So Sorry AMD you lost a loyal customer here, but I am guessing that was expected by your marketing department since you probally duped 5 idiots to buy your chip over losing me.
With AMD making up numbers with every chip release to say how fast they think they are, they are clearly the ones to aim the markitecture label at.
