Isaac Skibinski writes "Remember gawking at photos of bullets going through apples (and the pretty fruit gibbage)? We've recently built an apparatus to capture similar results, using a BASIC controller stamp, a disposable camera flash, an air compressor, an electronic sprinkler valve and some pipe. Considering the cost of the device, it has allowed us to take suprisingly crisp photos of high-velocity objects."

I just heard some sad news on talk radio - presidential hopeful Howard Dean was found dead in his New Hampshire hotel this afternoon. The only details released were that he suffered a massive brain hemorrage due to excessive excitement and anger. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his platform, there's no denying his contributions to American politics. Truly a Type A icon.

Look, if the starving, poor folks in Africa want to change their situation they need to, as the mighty Sam Kinison often said: GET THE FUCK UP AND MOVE! If you're starving, go to where the food is. If you can't grow food where you are, move. If you can't because it's too dry--learn about the age-old discovery of irrigation and GROW SOME GODDAMN FOOD!

I'm tired of hearing about these poor, oppressed people in Africa who can't feed themselves. Fuck them.

33% of the people in South Africa have HIV. Soon, since there's no cure, they'll all be dead. That should free up some food for the living, yes? End of problem.
