Macintosh 2004 Case Mod
NOTD665 writes "'On January 24 [1984], Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh. And you'll see why 1984 won't be like "1984."' This was the pronouncement at the end of Apple's commercial, which TV Guide magazine would later deem the greatest commercial of all time. Aired during the 1983 Super Bowl, the now famous Apple Macintosh '1984' commercial informed the world that the age of modern, home PCs was coming. Get ready. Here comes the Mac... Finally, one fateful day in December, the Mac's slumber was awoken yet again. It was time for the Mac to be reborn." Too bad it doesn't run Mac OS X.

Shame on you, timothy.
Jesus christ, another moron without a name. OK, Mr. Anonymous Dead-Horse Beater, this is for you. That's right, I am graced with the gift of youth, only getting my first computer in the early 90's. However, does that prevent me from doing research, and finding out how things were? Let's say, for arguements sake, that you liked the topic of the American Revolution. "But, you weren't alive then!!! How can you possilby have any sort of informed idea of what things were like." This is why things called sources were created. So that people living ages after a certain event occurred, or not knowing everything about a certain subject, can still learn about things. As for the PC, I use the term not to signify a computer running a Windows-based operating system, but as an acronym for what it does truly mean, a personal computer. The original mac was the first user friendly personal computer (not counting that IBM machine released a few years earlier who's name eludes me at this moment in time). You don't even have a screen installed. What the hell is that suppose to mean? You hook up, wait for it, a monitor to it. The G5's don't have a built in screen. Granted, the original mac did, but, yet again, you superb reader you, I was unable to make room for one while keeping a fairly respectable gaming rig under the hood. Thanks for playing, come again.

Why is it that Apple Computer is doomed to repeat the same actions that gets them in trouble time and time again. Sure, they can just settle out of court, but it's a drain on their corporate value.
I have never owned a Mac, and the main reason is cost. I would love to know why Mac owners are more intense about it than even Linux geeks, but I just cant aford to put that much money in a box, verses buying cloth for my family. Perhaps, one day, someone will give me one to play with (like my UltraSparc).
