What Games Should I Get for My New G5?

Lane.exe wonders: "So I just got a new Apple Mac G5 (Dual 1.8s, 1GB RAM, Radeon 9600, etc) and I was thinking about getting back into some gaming. I was looking over the game selection for Mac, and it's not looking as bright as I'd hoped. But I think this is due more to my ignorance of good games than anything else. What I'm looking for is a few good multiplayer shoot-em-ups (like Quake, UT or Half-Life) and a nicely engrossing RPG. The last few games I've played were Icewind Dale, Pool Of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, and MechWarrior 4. Has anyone got any suggestions along these lines?"

I've been meaning to rent some movies but I just don't know what I want to watch. I like movies that feature an interesting or original plot. Good acting is definitely a plus. And some action or beautiful cinematography would be nice. Anyone have some recommendations for me? Good movies, I mean. Please don't recommend dumb ones. I don't like movies that suck.

I'd recommend Apple Fagbot Mindless Drone. The object of AFMD is to give Steve "Blow" Jobs some oral tongue action, toss his salad and see how much of his "dressing" you can catch with your chin!

Um, sorry dude, but I think you got the wrong computer to play games on. Sure, many games are now being ported to the Mac, but most are pretty old (relatively speaking), and don't represent a wide variety like the full spectrum of games you can get on a Windows PC. Sure there are a few new games for the Mac, but not many. Fortunately, the ones that were ported were pretty big, like NWN, Halo, Quake3, etc. However, for cutting edge gaming performance, look at an Alienware gaming rig or something like that. I know it's not cool to advocate Windows, but when it comes to hard core PC gaming, it's sort of a must.

    Moron.

Nobody buys Apple for applications, they buy them because they look pretty, they are expensive - and the advertising told them that they were all beautiful and unique snowflakes. You are not a computer user - you are a marketing tool.

Sort of the reason people buy BMW cars, then are suprised when they catch fire (eg: the whole X5 fiasco & recall - think Powerbook screens) or find replacement parts incredibly expensive (eg: paying the premium for a perfectly standard ATI graphics card). Yep - because both Apple and BMW have great examples of badly engineered products that value visual design and advertising more than the quality of the products.

You're another long line of mac sycophants. You people are so in love with macs that your denial is never ceases to amaze me. You spew the same baseless, backwards rhetoric about macs and expect the non-mac zealots to buy into it.

    Fuck you!

Your quality over quantity has to be the most utterly ridiculous comment I've read in some time.

Let me break down your comment you fucktard since you contradict yourself in 3 short sentences...

Sure there aren't as many games, but one thing you will notice is that the games that do get ported are usually the most popular and/or best games available. These are the kind of people who accept quantity over quality. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that applies to all Windows/PC users: they all prefer quantity over quality.

So the best games get ported to mac for the people who support quality over quantity yet winOS users prefer quantity over quality? So the best, most popular games being ported from WINDOWS are quality yet the same games on Windows are crap and about quantity?

GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU FUCKING IDIOT:P

As always I love to flame MS's (mac sycophants)

P.S. Like I give a shit about karma even though mine is excellent:)
