Computer Engineering Degree Most Valuable

Anonymous Squonk writes "CNN reports on the National Association of Colleges and Employers quarterly salary survey. Computer Engineering degree holders once again command the highest starting salaries at an average of $53,117, but Chemical Engineering is gaining rapidly, and Computer Science graduate's salaries are up 8.9% over the year before. Most of the other geek disciplines rank high on the list as well." While starting salaries for some degrees are up, the overall situation is not very good - indeed, your salary may be decreasing.

Lemme get this straight; you sell things over the internet, and you post to /. ? I'm guessing that means you hate SCO as much as the rest of us.

As a gay man, I can say with a straight (!) face that SCO sucks.

So we have: spamming + hating SCO + having money = ... You paid andy to write MyDoom, didn't you?

You're the second person who has accused me of "spamming" with my post. I correctly stated to that poster that the accusation of spam takes no intelligence of critical thinking skills to produce, and that statement applies to you as well. It's just as stupid as saying, "Get a life!" Any low-intelligence self-important choad can type that without having to read or think about anything.

But now I'm curious as to why my post is labeled "spam". Isn't "spam" a term to describe unsolicited advertisement through electronic mediums such as e-mail, USENET, and SMS? How does my post qualify?

A 3.92 gpa should immediately disbar him from having anything to do with any sort of real science. Now a 2.8 makes for the best scientists.

    Umm this is just wrong...

Teachers on average get 9 weeks a year off (this is no counting vacation or sick time, this is the summer, a week and a half around Christmas, a Week around Easter, and MLK/Pres/....) All told on a yearly average teachers work about 34 hours a week (assuming during the standard week they work 45 hours). During their workweek they are given an hour paid lunch, and (in most states) a period (45 minutes or an hour) to do paperwork. In many states classes of the younger grades are given (or share with another class) a teaching assist to keep the kiddies in order.

    My apologies. Nothing personal.

I'm in computer engineering, and I'm just sick of people with CS or even much lower degrees/certificates calling themselves computer engineers.

Having gone through an EE program, a CSE Program and all but two classes of a CS program I can tell you there is a huge difference between all 3
