Mars Race Heats up Further

anzha writes "It seems what was once the province of the superpowers is no longer so. ESA and the Japanese attempted their own Mars orbiters (successfully and not, respectively). The Brits fired off Beagle 2 and are talking of going for Beagle 3. Now the Canadians are talking about a probe for Mars in 2011. How long before we see the Japanese and Russians try again? Might India or China take a stab at it as well?"

Earlier today, I took a multiple intelligence test. After arguing with an ex-lover on the potential aptitiude or lack thereof of inner-city students in the K-4 range, I turned to Google to back my argument up. I began researching standardized tests such as the Iowa battery of basic skills which led to discussion of IQ tests and their failings. It was then that I stumbled upon the multiple intelligence theory.

Multiple intelligence theory states that instead of the traditional spectrum of stupid-to-smart, there are several spectrums that an individual's various talents and abilities place them on. For example, Rusty and William may both rank a 50 on the traditional IQ scale, but one might have a good head for math and enjoy economics while the other has an Earthen skill-set and loves nature and the outdoors.

My own results from the above-linked test show a general leaning toward genius with exceptional ability in 50% of the intelligences, above-average ability in 38% of the areas, and only one talent 12% at the average. I present to you, Kuro5hin, my various acuities. I don't think that these results will come as a surprise to anyone.

    1. Bodily-Kinesthetic: 68
    2. Linguistic: 100
    3. Logical-Mathematical: 73
    4. Musical: 100
    5. Naturalist: 53
    6. Interpersonal: 100
    7. Intrapersonal: 100
    8. Visual-Spatial: 75

I was quite in agreement with the results for my own test as I felt that they matched my own opninion of how intelligent I am that and the fact that there were a lot of high numbers. Please feel free to post your own numbers if you feel so inclined to show the rest of the site just how those monitor-tanned heads of yours work

    Thank you.
