Profile of the Mind of a Virus Writer

zdburke writes "Clive Thompson, writing for the NY Times, has profiled several young computer virus writers around the world. A young Austrian wrote a Batch Trojan Generator which has simple options for constructing your next virus: fomat drive C? Overwrite every file? It's very well written by an author who clearly knows his stuff."

Well, Slashdot block so much actual good information and sources of debat within the Linux and OOS community they need to fill that space with some cr*p.

    Creepy indeed...

I tend to wonder as to what sick minded marketroid thought that having some underage-looking naked guy would make for an interesting accent graphic to a story about virus creation.

I suppose that they think no geek has a wife/girlfriend therefore we must turn on ourselves and become practitioners of butt piracy.

Sorry I just think it's sick.

Yeah, if there's going to write viruses, they might at least have the decency to put some thought into it and make sure it doesn't have any bugs in it for goodness sake...

(note: this is a joke, I don't think we should be teaching children how to write viruses properly of course)

The /. editors just sit around, rolling in their "dotcom millions" (probably decimated to more like 100s of thousands, unless they were very careful), masturbating, and smoking pot.

In fact, I rarely go to /. anymore. If you visit wired.com and nytimes.com (to read tech news) you'll get 99% of the same stories, but PROFESSIONALLY edited!
