Appeals Court OKs FTC's Do-Not-Call List

GTRacer writes "The USA Today website just posted a report that the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals (Denver) has upheld the FTC's national Do Not Call registry. In their decision, the Court found the list to be 'a valid commercial speech regulation...without burdening an excessive amount of speech.' The telemarketers had challenged the constitutionality of blocking commercial free speech while allowing charities and select others to continue phone solicitation. Interestingly enough, 'Officials in the telemarketing industry did not immediately return calls seeking comment.' Isn't it now obvious these people have a double-standard when it comes to reaching out and touching someone?" The court's decision is available to read.

Remember when the argument against liberating Iraq was that it was a "distraction" from the war against al Qaeda? John Kerry is promising four years of nonstop distraction from all America's enemies. Here's an exchange between Craig Gilbert of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the presumptive Democratic nominee from a "debate" Sunday between Kerry and the four remaining losers:

Gilbert: Senator Kerry, President Bush a week ago on "Meet the Press " described himself as a war president. He said he's got war on his mind as he considers these policies and decisions he has to make. If you were elected, would you see yourself as a war president?

Kerry: I'd see myself first of all as a jobs president, as a health care president, as an education president and also an environmental president. And add them all together, you can't be safe at home today unless you are also safe abroad.

You may recall that when al Qaeda struck America on Sept. 11, 2001, it interrupted a visit by President Bush to a school in Florida. Would President Kerry, informed of the attack, have brushed the whole thing aside and said, "Don't bother me with that stuff, I'm an education president"?

    I don't understand your sig.

Are you pro gay marriage (illustrating that it's pointless to forego some arbitrary ritual, so why not let everyone do it)?

Are you anti gay marriage (illustrating that they don't need the ritual if they're committed, and it's an exclusive 'breeder program' anyway)?

Or are you anti-marriage in general (illustrating that the ritual itself is arbitrary, and you don't care for it)?

Pardon me if this is some 'know' quote that I just missed.
