Cybersecurity Firms Form Industry Association
An anonymous reader writes "Washington Technology is reporting that a new industry association centered around cybersecurity has been formed, to make sure security firms like RSA Security Inc., PGP Corp., Network Associates Inc., and others get their voices heard in Washington." Art Coviello, CEO of RSA Security Inc, is quoted in the article as saying: "The country is faced with the serious threat of terrorism and the possibility of cyberterrorism. If we can speak with one voice, we can play an important role in protecting the nation's critical infrastructure."
Nothing to say, really. Except for worthless, opinionated blabber. Oh wait, am I on Slashdot?
This is just another symptom of the Religious Right's hold over this country. Vote that bastard Bush out in November
This is a matter of utmost importance. I just checked my slashdot home page, and Taco has put up a new interface to view old messages! It's pretty awful. I use a reasonably wide screen resolution (for today's computers), but this page gives me a horizontal scroll bar! How does this make you feel?

I hear ya man, the comments section in our profiles is totally whack now. It was kind of shocking. I do like how they tell us what discussion it's from, but... The colors! The horror! Aahhhhhh
The brave crew manning the Mount Washington Observatory in North Conway, NH are in severe peril. Due to the extreme temperatures, they have not been able to actuate a team rotation for the last week.
If this cold snap does not moderate soon, they are in danger of exhausting their entire food and oxygen stores!
Just last night, a member of the observation team became trapped behind a shack fifty yards from the observatory deck, because of the unrelenting 100+ mph winds.
Read more about it here
And here is a picture of some of the observation team members who were forced outside -- all with bare skin exposed to the sub-zero cold -- to escape a deadly carbon-monoxide leak emanating from the building's only furnace unit!
Rather, quite a reasonable observation...
come on mods, that is not a troll, it is the truth.
