Open Source Macro Programs?
BlueCup asks: "I've wanted to switch to Linux for quite a while, but my work requires a lot of automated tasks. For these tasks I have global macros set up using Toolsworks and Macro Express. So far I've looked for equivalents for Linux, but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know of a similar program that reaches the same level of complexity of the above programs for Linux?"
What you have to understand is that the Linux folks are not the bunch who want to get things done and done it quickly. Most of them are unemployed and hang out in their mommas basements with nothing better to do than update their Debian distro or try to get that USB flash key under Red Hat. Seldom you see Linux software that saves you time, most of it you have to spend weeks figuring out how to launch.
Thus it's very unlikely that such products, time-savers and automation systems, really exist under Linux. You will be advised to learn Perl, which should give you 50% of those capabilities and shouldn't take more than a year to figure out.
...What the fuck Slashdot has done to the user information screen? It looks like a piece of shit now. Well done, Slashcoders!
AH.
So you're a dope - a 'dummie' - that uses Windows and never bothers learning anything - and now you want this crew to hold your hand?
What happens when your nose drips? I imagine it still does that a lot. Does your MOMMY come and wipe it for you?
