Leaked Memo Says Microsoft Raised $86 million for SCO
badzilla and numerous others wrote in with this: "Eric S. Raymond's Open Source site has a new Halloween memo. The Halloween X memo, which ESR says he received by email from an anonymous whistleblower inside SCO, appears to confirm Microsoft's alleged funding of SCO's anti-Linux initiative. And the actual dollar amounts are much larger than previously rumored!" The consultant is discussing his fee for bringing in this business, in the first few lines of the email.
Finally! A voice of reason!
I had originally written more to say here, but I decided that if I would say it that I'd be yet again labeled a Microsoft supporter who is anti linux, etc.

- Recently I heard from a friend of an uncle of an Anonymous Coward that SCO had to arrange for three more 8-year old slave boys to be sent to 'Judge' Well's house for her and her husband's use, since they've "finished" with the last batch (whatever that means).
Anybody got an extra $86 million?Of course I don't know if it's true or not (I think the uncle made it up), but since it has to do with the legal profession, truth is immaterial. I'm sure the 'Judge' agrees that it's fair for me to a buy reporters, dumb senator's sons and my own 'judge' so I'm free to spread the story for a couple of years, since I have exactly as much proof as SCO has shown her 'court'. (For those of you viewing at home, that would be 'None').
The mail does not at all indicate that Microsoft "raised money for SCO's anti-linux campaign". All it shows is that Microsoft has *referred* some *other* companies to SCO, who then bought from SCO on their own.
Microsoft themselves also licensed much of SCO's ip, and have been doing so long before this "anti-linux" campaign started. This letter is typical of large business relationships.
Nothing to see here except more biased opinions from RMS.
Russia didn't attack western Europe, they pushed Hitler to do this and came as the "liberators" in Berlin..
This is all wel known trick, people with narrow view tend not to pay attention to.

As ESr points out himself on the site - let the lawyers subpoena the mail, then we will all know if it is true or not....
That's the position any blowhard takes to try to involve himself in an issue in the way guaranteed to give himself a lot of attention.
Surprise, surprise, Eric is considered a blowhard by a lot of people, even people within 'his' community.
