Building a Large Linux Knowledgebase

linuxfan writes "It looks like LinuxQuestions.org is aiming to build the largest independent Linux-related knowledgebase using a Wiki. They are using the same software as Wikipedia (MediaWiki), are using a Creative Commons license and look to be off to a good start."

I know that this will be modded as flamebait and I'm sorry if you feel that it is but, this is a serious question. Why a Wiki? I have yet to see a Wiki that is ANY GOOD AT ALL. They all SUCK!!!!

The very nature of Wiki will guarantee that it sucks. Some one builds a page that sucks but, they think it's great. Someone else comes along and fixes it making it much better. The first guy gets pissed and destroys the page. It happens all the time. Wiki's SUCK. Can anyone show me a Wiki that isn't God aweful?

If you want the definitive Linux Knowledgebase go here.

im kinda confused as to the purpose of the Wikki thing. i mean, why not just use a search engine like google or vivisimo? it seems like a waste of internet space. and light shed on this would be great.
