Novell's Chris Stone at the MySQL Users Conference

An anonymous reader writes "According to the MySQL User's Conference page, Chris Stone of Novell, the guy behind Open Source at Novell who was responsible for the purchase of SUSE and Ximian, will be speaking at the MySQL conference. Perhaps we finally get to see what Novell is planning to do with Linux?" (That conference is taking place in mid-April, in Orlando.)

    There is the obligatory link to the MySQL user conference, the obligatory Chris Stone bio link, links to a few previous stories, but no new story. This is so surreal. Its like when I went into Subway with a friend who ordered a "six inch on wheat, with cheese". The girl behind the counter got out the bread, cut it in half, put the cheese on it, then kind of spaced out for a minute before asking him what kind of sandwich he wanted. Try it sometime.

    Can't wait to what Novell does after they've gathered all of this knowledge and all of these developers to their helm. Maybe offer an Open Source replacement for Bill Gates???

    hey! I was there that weekend. Remember when that guy... I think his name was billy (billy and his willy) got his dick stuck in the toaster. It was so funny that I split my pants, resulting in immediate anal rape by the ski patrol.

    I noticed an artical talking about the fact that novell was looking at what feature of netware would it make sense to open souce. This to me means that any software that gives them a leg up on the compitition will still be propritary but any software that could benifit from being open souce will be open sourced eventually.

    Lets face it, Michael Moore is an idiot and we should take back his Oscar. Where does he get off calling our President fictitious...moreover, sending a quarter of a million troops into war for "fictitious reasons."

    Moore along with the Dixie Chicks, should pack their bags and make a b-line for nearest communist country. Their personal attacks on our beloved President are cowardly and utterly disrespectful.

    Mr. President Bush, if you ever read this article, take peace in knowing that while the majority of Hollywood is not taking sides with you, the majority of America supports your cause as it is in the best interest of national security. God Bless your soul, God Bless the troops in Iraq, God Bless America!

    Did we forget that free was in software, not beer. It is ok to Charge for the software as long as the code was available to all!!
