Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow!
ph43thon writes "The New York Times Magazine has a neat story about the sci-fi nerd, Kerry Conran, behind 'Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.' It's an interesting look at his creative journey starting with a Macintosh IIci. It took him twelve hours just to render individual robot legs. Antisocial, shy people rejoice! Hide in your homes until you get discovered by a movie producer!!"
The link in the story is already a google link. The parent is redundant. Mod down.
What is so damn hard about registering your own name? If you are going to read their content, you should agree to read it on their terms, or not read it at all.
People scream "privacy invasion!" but then they find and abuse loopholes to steal the content. If you have an issue with the New York Times, then don't read it. But don't bitch about something and then abuse a loophole to get it anyway.
You want something, but you can't have it on terms that you agree to, so you will just steal it? What kind of hypocritical mindset lets you do that?
That's right mods, let's all encourage copyright violation.
If you want to read a NYTimes article, why don't you read it from the New York Times? "Free registration required" doesn't mean "Theft permitted".
For instance, if the federal minimum wage law was amended to allow undocumented workers to be paid $2-3/hour, employers could afford up expand their operations up to 75%! Imagine creating HUNDREDS of thousands of jobs with the stroke of the pen, at NO EXTRA cost to industry! These are numbers George W. Bush could only dream of with his well-intentioned but ultimately ineffective tax cuts. Hopefully the upcoming election will highlight this important issue.
Why is it that even though /. has access to NY Times articles without registration that stories are posted with links that require registration first?
Blasted trolls...Parent down, grandparent whatever.
-insert a witty something-
The parent is a spork troll from anti-slash.org. Check his journal if you don't believe me. Just about every post is discussing ways to ruin Slashdot. Mod this annoying troll down.
That's not nice, my blog is a good blog. AND, I contributed a good news story that no one else seemed to register. My post was not a flame.
What's this "theft" you're talking about, and why shouldn't we do it?
I tried to go straight, but I got modded down for not being a linux fanatic.
Therefore, more trolling!
FAGGOT!
Ok, buddy
OK, so I said theft (as in IP theft) when I meant "copyright violation". Easy slip to make these days, unfortunately. You know what I meant and it's perfectly obvious that it is, in some sense of the word, theft (as in misappropriation).
IHBT.
It's my pedantic obligation to say this:
antisocial P Pronunciation Key (nt-sshl, nt-)

Word often have different meanings.
Endless arguments over trivial contradictions in books written by ignorant savages to explain thunder in the dark.
