Microsoft Facing European Sanctions

Shakrai writes "CNN and Money Magazine are reporting that a draft decision by the EU committee overseeing the Microsoft investigation appears to recommend fairly severe sanctions against our favorite software company. The article states that the ruling will likely force Microsoft to offer a second version of Windows without 'built-in audiovisual software' (Windows Media Player) for EU customers. While this sounds like a good thing, the article also mentions that Microsoft has an appeals process and will likely get an injunction against enforcement while they pursue said appeal, which may take years."

My Windows XP machine stopped printing Sunday, and it took four hours to fix it (problem was never diagnosed- I wound up reinstalling several things), so I'm quite in a "f*** Microsoft in the ass until they bleed" mood this morning.

And f*** HP while we're at it, because a lot of that time was spent searching HP's web site for the proper installer, which I found tucked away in a dusty corner. Their search engine kept directing me to "buy our shit" pages.

I so want to move to the Outback and live with the abos and escape what computing has become.

What exact reasoning did you use to kick this down to 0 Flamebait? I answered an obvious troll in a reasonable tone, with restraint. If you think my views are incorrect why not just shave a point off? Or better yet, why don't you refute my points?

Do you disagree with the present US leadership?

Do you think that the US President George W. Bush has his head up his ass?

If you do, then PLEASE contact the head of state of your country and ask them to publicly announce to the world that they would prefer to see Mr. John Kerry as the leader of the USA instead of George W. Bush.

At present, the Bush administration is in an election campaign, and is placing great pressure their contestant, John Kerry, to reveal the names of foriegn heads of state who have privately told him that they would rather see him as the US President than George W. Bush. Since these were private conversations, Mr. Kerry would not want to divulge these names himself.
But, if those heads of state made themselves known voluntarily, it would be very embarrassing to the Bush campaign.

    Please consider doing this!

Most people with common sense agree that the world will be safer for everyone if President Bush is defeated in the coming election.

    Thank you,
    from

    A concerned US citizen.
